The system has a flexible waste water channel that is shiftable from an earth's surface, where the waste water channel is formed as a flexible elongated tube. The waste water channel has heat exchanger tubes that are arranged in a circular segment in a tube wall of the waste water channel. A shifting device bypasses and shifts the waste water channel from the earth's surface over a vertical of a shaft (10) to a horizontal of a channel section (12). The waster water channel is brought into the channel section under deformation. An independent claim is also included for a method for arranging an existing waste water channel.
