The machine (1) has working places (2) arranged adjacent to each other, and a tube storage unit arranged at a front end of the machine and designed as a main storage (6) for storage of empty tubes (7). A conveyor (8) is provided for transport of the tubes to the working places, and a tube storage unit is designed as intermediate storage units (9, 9') and is feedable via the conveyor through the main storage. The intermediate storage units exhibit a tube holder for holding the tubes in a ready position outside the conveyor and a device for bringing the tubes in the ready position. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing empty tubes at a textile machine.
