The curtain-coating unit comprises a discharge nozzle, which fell on the surface of a fiber material web (2) and produces a coating layer, a drip pan (7) and/or an air barrier removing unit (8), which exists itself directly over the surface of the fiber material web to be coated and in running direction of the fiber material web equipped directly before the curtain delivered by a curtain coating head (6). The single or multilayered curtain (3) reduces the gravity following on the surface of the fiber material web and obtains a coating layer. The curtain-coating unit comprises a discharge nozzle, which fell on the surface of a fiber material web (2) and produces a coating layer, a drip pan (7) and/or an air barrier removing unit (8), which exists itself directly over the surface of the fiber material web to be coated and in running direction of the fiber material web equipped directly before the curtain delivered by a curtain coating head (6). The single or multilayered curtain (3) reduces the gravity following on the surface of the fiber material web and obtains a coating layer. The curtain coating head with the air barrier removing unit forms a building unit, which is tightly arranged and exists above the fiber material web. The curtain drip pan is movable relative to the building unit. The coating head is formed as sliding layer nozzle and has an external sliding surface that passes over into a cutting edge, and two interior coating medium chambers, where each chamber branches off a supply column that passes over on the surface of the sliding layer nozzle in the slit shaped discharge nozzle from which a coating medium layer is delivered. The flat air barrier removing unit exists itself beneath the coating medium chamber. The air barrier removing unit and/or the building unit comprises a suction opening and/or a blow opening, which are turned to the surface of the fiber material web. The building unit disposes at its supply side and its discharge side over cushioned support strip. The lower side of the building unit does not touch the surface of the fiber material web. The support strip and the building unit are arranged in the same height. The respective plain lower side of the support strip and also the building unit is contactable to the surface of the fiber material web and made of metal or wear-resistant plastic. The curtain coating head as an upper part and the air barrier removing unit as lower part are jointly shiftable as building unit.
