Method for testing leak tightness of fuel injector of internal combustion engine, has operating internal combustion engine in preset operating condition based on comparison of signal from measuring sensor with preset reference ranges
The method involves arranging a measuring probe (12) in an exhaust gas path downstream to a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine (10), where the probe has a measuring sensor corresponding to hydrocarbon. The internal combustion engine is operated in a preset operating condition based on comparison of a signal from the measuring sensor with preset reference ranges. A connection to a controller of the engine is produced, and a temperature and/or exhaust gases of the engine are detected. An independent claim is also included for a testing device for testing leak tightness of a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine.
