The plug-in pump has a housing (3) comprising a pump chamber (4) that is connected with an intake valve (6) by an intake pipeline (5) and with a high pressure valve (8) by a high pressure pipeline (7). The intake valve comprises a closing part (11) pressed at a valve seat (10) by a compression spring (9). The closing part is lifted from the valve seat against force of the compression spring by a motor in a direction that is turned away from the pump chamber. The closing part comprises a ball, and the valve seat comprises a hollow cone for partially enclosing the ball.
