The dryer (1) has a blower (19) arranged in a processing air circuit (2), and a conductance sensor (21) arranged in a drying chamber (3) for measuring a conductance of articles to be dried. A controller (10) exhibits a comparison unit (22) for comparison of the conductance measured after specific period from beginning of the drying process with a marginal conductance stored in the controller. The controller has an evaluation unit (23) that evaluates a difference between the conductance and the marginal conductance in a view of a presence of an unallowable operating condition.
