The method involves storing data of an object or a feature in a storage. The object or the feature is classified by comparison of the data stored in the storage after visual inspection of the object or the feature. The object or the feature is recorded in a digital card of a navigation device, and the data is derived from two time points from a sensor (11) e.g. light detection and ranging sensor, and/or is computed from sensor data of the sensor.
