A control unit (70) is connected and operated with a unit for identifying a subside-critical ground. The control unit is automatically exchanged from an operating mode to another operating mode, when the unit displays the subside-critical ground condition. An independent claim is included for a method for operating automobile agricultural harvesting machine.
