The line projection device (1) has a coherent light source (4) for sending coherent light (5), and a slit diaphragm (6) that is arranged in the path of rays of the coherent light source. The slit diaphragm is measured in such a manner that the coherent light is bent. The coherent light is bent such that a line shaped light marking (2) is produced on an object (3). The slit diaphragm is made of transparent plastic, particularly polycarbonate and a metal foil. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a line projection device.
