The transmission (30) has a nut (32) arranged on a threaded spindle (31), and a set of balls (33) arranged behind the other in the thread of the threaded spindle. The balls arranged on linear careers roll-off on the threaded spindle and on the nut. The balls contact the threaded spindle and the nut at points of contact (34, 35, 36, 37) located in a region near a gap (38) defined between the threaded spindle and the nut. The thread of the threaded spindle and the nut has a steep flank angle within the region near the gap existing between the threaded spindle and the nut.
