The sensor has a sensor element (11) including a sensor body (14) with electrical contact surfaces (17, 18). A metal-sheathed lead (13) has two connection wires (132) and a metal case (131), where ends of the connection wire are connected with the contact surfaces by material engagement. A protection pipe (12) partially surrounds the sensor element. The sensor element is completely received in the protection pipe, and a mounting surface (22) is directly fixed on the metal-sheathed lead in a gas-proof manner. The protection pipe is arranged on a high temperature sealing compound i.e. glass-ceramic-compound.
