The method involves controlling an electrical load (9) by inductance of a controller (1) using current limiting devices (R1-R3) and circuit-breakers (S1-S3). Each current limiting device is switched on and/or switched off in series by the controller for supplying current to the electrical load for a defined time period, where the current limiting devices are provided in parallel current paths (31-33) respectively, and the switch off operation takes place in the same order as the switch on operation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a controller for an electrical load comprising parallel current paths with current limiting devices (2) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for executing a controller operating method.
