The hub (1) has a brake device (4) arranged concentric to a hub axle (2), which is attachable to a frame (3) of a vehicle. The brake device includes friction elements (41-43) that are connected to each other in an axial direction of the hub axle for generating braking torque. Ramp- and/or circular components (44, 50) cause the axial connection of the friction elements by actuating the brake device. A longitudinal groove (12) runs in the axial direction of the hub axle, and the brake device is arranged outer side of the hub.
