The device has a hollow profile (10) comprising a positioning element for positioning a measuring plate in the hollow profile. The measuring plate is supported in the hollow profile in such a manner that sections of the measuring plate are moved opposite to the hollow profile along an axis. The positioning element comprises guide rails (14, 16), and sectionally forms a limiting wall (26) of a floating chamber (28) formed at the hollow profile. Length of the measuring plate in a direction of the axis is larger than a length of the hollow profile in the axis direction.
