The cabinet has a compartment (4) for vertical storage of pattern-books (1), and is closed by flaps (10). The flaps are pivotable individually into a horizontal position around a horizontal pivot axle (11) that is arranged at a lower edge of the flaps. Each pattern-book is fastened to an inner side of each flap with back of the pattern-book pointing to the flap. A support surface (5) extends transverse to the cabinet, and the flaps rest on the support surface in a tilted condition. A buffer or damping element (16) is fastened to an outer side of the flaps.
