The fiber-optic surface plasmon resonance sensor (1) comprises a light source (8) and a detector (9) limiting on a working wave length. A metal layer (22) made of gold, silver, palladium, copper or aluminum is provided, which surrounds a casing of a fiber (7). A long-periodic Bragg lattice (10) is inscribed in the nuclear area (28) of the single mode fiber, which is applied as optical waveguide for linking the input-nuclear mode (11) into a selected casing mode (12).
