The switchgear has a contact system standing in effective connection with a magnetic system (8). The magnetic system has a movable armature (9) for opening and closing contacts (14) of the contact system. The armature and a yoke (10) are arranged opposite to each other such that an electromagnetic field produced by a coil (6) moves the armature towards the yoke, when electric current is applied to the coil. A sensor (13) i.e. force sensor, is arranged at a side of the yoke lying opposite to the armature, where the sensor detects the impact torque of the armature.
