The method involves detecting an object (3) to be scanned by a line sensor (1) in relation with a movable object such that the sensor detects line-by-line images (4) of the objects at a constant scanning speed (V). The images of the objects are detected in a scanning direction transverse to a sensor row (8) of the sensor during the reduction of another scanning speed at a fractional amount of the former scanning speed. The sensor is moved in a longitudinal direction of the sensor row offset to a position of the sensor during passage relative to the object in a scanning device (7). An independent claim is also included for a device for raising release of scanned image information by using a line sensor, comprising a projection lens.
