The device has a transverse running instrument panel (1) bent downward in a foot space area at a defined angle with respect to a normal plane for sufficient freedom of legs. The instrument panel has a set of areas that is oppositely movable in a rearward direction of an operator such that supporting of the legs takes place below knees in a tibia area. The instrument panel has a bent wall formed as a support cover (2) in a lower part of the panel areas that are correspondingly movable during a front crash.
