Hood comprises a material mixture consisting of (in wt.%) 3-8 paper, 20-30 temperature-resistant filler, 20-35 blown perlite, 8-18 mineral wool or fiber components, 20-30 kieselguhr and 5-10 binder. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of a hood for a steel ingot.
