The device has a laser unit focusing a pulsed laser radiation into a cornea (H) and moves the radiation in the cornea. A control unit controls the laser unit such that optical break-throughs are produced in a pre-determined region i.e. lenticular-form subvolume (11), of the cornea by the radiation. The cornea is removed for correcting defective vision of an eye (A). Two intrastromal cutting surfaces (22, 23) e.g. rings, do not run up to the pre-determined region. The shape and position of the surfaces are selected such that the surfaces contribute for correction of defective vision of the eye. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for correcting defective vision of an eye (2) a method for producing control data for a control unit of a correction device.
