The trip (101) has an operating and display front part (107) with window-like openings (106), and a printed circuit board that is arranged in a housing. The board has a fiber-optic cable element transmitting light signals from display elements i.e. LEDs, to the openings, where the cable element comprises light inputs and light outputs. The cable element is fastened to a side of the front part by fastening parts that are integral component of the housing. The housing is made of metal sheet plate and the fastening parts are formed from double-folded bent latches of the housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a fiber-optic cable element at a housing of an electronic trip.
