The method involves generating a clock for a transmission unit (1) and a receiving unit (2). The clock is synchronous to a supply frequency on a power supply line (3), whose frequency is integer multiple of the supply frequency. Parallel and spreading signals that are successive at a period of spreading code are integrated after evaluation of spread code bits, where a walsh-code is utilized as the spreading code. A logical one and logical null are assigned as a received data bit result, during positive-integration result and negative-integration result, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a device for transmission of data between a transmission unit and a receiving unit via an electrical power supply line.
