New aromatic sulfonic acid fluoride compounds useful for fluorinating of alcohols, and for producing medicaments, agrochemicals or liquid crystals

Aromatic sulfonic acid fluoride compounds (I), are new. Aromatic sulfonic acid fluoride compounds of formula ((SO 2F) n-ARYL-(NO 2) m) (I), are new. ARYL : 6-14C-aryl (optionally one or more times substituted with alkyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino, haloalkyl, haloalkylthio or haloalkyloxy), preferably phenyl (optionally one or more times substituted with trifluoromethyl, trichloromethyl, 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl, pentafluoroethyl, heptafluoroisopropyl, difluoromethoxy, fluoroethoxy, fluoromethoxy, trifluoromethoxy, trichloromethoxy or 2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy or nonafluorobutyl); and m, n : 1 or 2, where the sum of n and m is 2-4. An independent claim is included for producing fluorinated alcohol compound of formula (R(OH) y-z(F) z) (III), comprising reacting alcohol compounds of formula (R(OH) y) (II) with (I). R : a y-valent organic radical, preferably 1-6C-alkyl, 1-6C-alkenyl, 5-7 membered saturated or partially unsaturated heterocyclyl (all optionally substituted with alkanoyloxy alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, aryl, CN, dialkylamino, halo, heteroaryl, monoalkylamino or nitro); y : natural number greater than 0; and z : natural number greater than 0 and y.
