The method involves closing a waste gate valve during load requirement to an internal-combustion engine. The valve is compressed with a predetermined force against a waste gate valve-seat. The predetermined force is selected such that a bypass channel is flow-sealed and locked in a pressure-sealed manner against exhaust pressure of the engine during load requirement. The valve is locked in a partial load operation of the engine and compressed with another predetermined force against the seat, where the latter predetermined force is lesser than the former predetermined force.
