The device has a temperature responding device (108) arranged in an interesting region of a post-treatment mechanism (106). The temperature responding device has a structure made of an electrically conductive material that melts at a threshold temperature. An observation module i.e. Ohm meter (114B), detects melting of the temperature responding device. The detection of the melting of the responding device determines whether a resistance value is a value that is compatible with an open circuit between both input points. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for detecting temperature threshold value procedures in a post-treatment mechanism (2) a system for detecting temperature threshold value procedures in a post-treatment mechanism.
