The retaining device (100) has a fixed support, which functions as a universal joint and is fastened eccentrically at an end, particularly at a lower end of a laminar element (110). The fixed support is formed in order to allow rotation of the laminar element in two space axes. The two moving units (130,140) are provided with a variable length. The moving units are engaged at the supporting points (195) at the laminar element. A rope of the moving units has a flat belt, particularly made of a glass fiber or a carbon material. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for adjusting a laminar element by a retaining device with reference to the sun; and (2) a computer program for the execution of the method.
