The device (2) has lighting units (15) and a set of scattering units arranged below supporting plates (7). The scattering units scatter light that is emitted by the lighting units and are arranged above the lighting units. Another set of scattering units is arranged at edges of interruptions (10) that are turned towards conveyor belts (5a, 5b), so that semiconductor products (3) arranged on an upper surface of the supporting plates in a raised position are backlighted in a region of the interruptions of a common formed surface (9) in an improved manner.
