The method involves supplying supply voltage (Vs) to an analog sensor (3) by an external voltage regulator (1). Analog voltage arising at the sensor is measured by comparing the analog voltage with an analog reference (AD-Ref). The analog reference is provided by an analog to digital converter (10) of a microcontroller (5), where the supply voltage of the sensor lies in a predetermined voltage range and is smaller than tolerance threshold of the analog reference. The supply voltage and output voltage (Vout) of the sensor lie within a defined value range of the analog reference. An independent claim is also included for a device for supplying power to an analog sensor, comprising a voltage source.
