The turbo charger (1) has a shaft (7) supported in a radial bearing (8) of a bearing housing (6). A rotor (2) and a compressor rotor (4) are coaxially connected via the shaft. A hub extension unit (11) is provided with a centric recess at the compressor rotor. A thread adapter (15) is screwed on the shaft from a side of a compressor (5). The adapter is designed with an inner wall centering to the shaft and a radial outer wall extending parallel to an axis of the shaft. The centric recess is provided with an internal thread fitted at an external thread at the thread adapter. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting of an exhaust gas turbo charger.
