The method involves selecting a content of a website by a user, and storing an URL of the website and selection information in a vehicle-external memory device. A web-browser that is provided in a vehicle is communicated with the memory device. The URL and/or the selected content are provided. A vehicle-external retrieving device that is assigned to the memory device is accessed to the website in an internet. The selected content of the website is provided in a format such that the selected content is displayed on a display of the vehicle by the web-browser. An independent claim is also included for a system for providing contents of a website on a display of a motor vehicle.
