Orthodontic device comprises soft elastic cushions (1) arranged between the row of teeth to absorb occlusal forces during biting. A liquid is moved via communicating connections (2) to force-releasing cushions (3) which are connected to a shape-stable adjustable base (4) on one side and lie on the teeth and/or jaw sections to be treated so that a therapeutic force is exerted on biting whose direction is determined by the geometric arrangement of the base and the force-releasing cushion. Preferred Features: A gaseous medium can be used instead of the liquid. The surface of the soft elastic cushions has retentive structures on the side of the jaw to be treated.
