The method involves utilizing electrical conductivity of gas in flame (Rf) as a measurement for a present conversion rate of the flame. Current is used as a measurement for the electrical conductivity of the flame based on direct or an alternating voltage, which is outwardly supplied by electrodes. The direct or an alternating voltage is calculated based on temperature difference between electrodes and conducting parts of a burner. A direct component or an alternating component of the current or voltage is used for signal analysis. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring chemical conversion rate of flame in a heating system and a combustion chamber.
