The method involves wetly applying a floor (5) i.e. cement floor, on immature soil (2) i.e. concrete floor. A structure layer (7) is applied on the floor after a setting- and hardening time, and a planar sealing layer (8) is applied over the structure layer. A floor covering (10) is applied on the sealing layer. A mopboard (11) is directly/indirectly applied in an edge region (3) between the covering and a wall (4), and runs at a distance to the wall so that vapor from the floor is dissipated via a channel system (9) in the edge region and via side joints (16) and an aeration gap (21). An independent claim is also included for a floor element and a mopboard assembly for producing a floor construction.
