The method involves providing slots (3) or corrugated structures at one side or both sides in a belt (1). A belt breadth of the belt corresponds to a thickness of a filter. The belt is wounded around a mandrel to produce the filter. Filter openings of the filter are provided by the slots or corrugated structures of the belt. The slots are arranged in regular distances along the belt. Belt sections of the belt are connected with each other by soldering at a temperature between 950 and 1250 degree Celsius. An independent claim is also included for a filter for treating pulp suspensions.
