The engine has a tension screw (6) for enforcing a clamping strip (3) and pulling an exhaust manifold (2, 4) with a clamping bevel against other clamping bevel of the clamping strip. The clamping strip converges in a pulling direction of the screw to a cylinder head (1). The tension screw is provided on two sides of a center plane of the exhaust manifold and/or the clamping strip and interspersed by a slotted hole or a through-hole in the clamping strip. The exhaust manifold is provided with two long holes for two bolts (5). An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting an exhaust manifold that guides a hot gas.
