The method involves producing the strokes (h1,h2) in mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic manner. A creasing takes place by two upper creasing rails (4a,4b) with positive creasing profile and two lower creasing rails (3a,3b) with negative creasing profile. The upper creasing rails are formed against the lower creasing rails during the holding of the envelope of the rear-creasing with a vertical stroke. An independent claim is also included for a device for creasing the envelope with the production of brochures in an adhesive binder.
