The arrangement has a pipeline and a shutoff device (10) that is shiftable for branching a partial flow of a gas flow from a closing position to an opening position. The shutoff device and/or a component that is directly or indirectly connected with the shutoff device is partially made of magnetic material. The shutoff device is pushed into the closing position by an electrical produced magnetic field produced by the magnetic material. The shutoff device is held in the closing position by the action of magnetic field within the region of a cross-section of an opening that is to be locked. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling and/or regulating a bypass valve arrangement.
