The grinding wheel (7) has a processing surface in the circumferential direction of different diameters (D). The processing surface has a concave partial surface (9) and a convex partial surface (12) in the circumferential direction. The partial surfaces have different curvature radii, where one curvature radius is equal or smaller than the other curvature radius. An independent claim is also included for a grinding machine for grinding a camshaft.
