The method involves injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of a cylinder directly or indirectly, where combustion mixture is ignited in the combustion chamber by ignition system to given ignition time point. The ignition of a Corona ignition system is initiated for reduction of raw emissions during certain operating conditions of an Otto-combustion engine within a work cycle in addition to an operation point ignition of the combustion mixture.
