The tire pressure control system (1) comprises a mass damper, which is arranged on a wheel axle (30), a tire pressure sensor (3), a tire valve, a pressure distributor (5) with switching valves, a control and regulating unit (10), and a high pressure accumulator (12). The tire pressure control system has a tire pressure control valve (4) as tire valve. The mass damper cooperates with the high pressure accumulator and forms a vibration damper-high pressure compressor (15). An independent claim is also included for a method for tire pressure control.
