The gear (1) has a planetary housing (1.1) including a central shaft (3) with a sun gear carrier (3.1), and multiple mixing shafts (4, 4') with planet gears (4.1, 4.1'). Each planet gear is in direct or indirect engagement with the carrier. Each mixing shaft has a receiver (4.2) for attachment to a hub of a mixing tool. A channel system (6) is provided for a cooling or heating medium and extends towards the mixing shafts with respect to the central shaft. The central shaft and the mixing shafts are supported in the housing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a mixing tool for mixing materials in a mixing container (2) a method for mixing materials.
