The device (1) has receiving bars (7) projecting against rollers (3) of a conveyor belt (4) during process of delivery of elongated workpiece. The bars are oriented at a loading place toward an action of a transverse conveyer system (5) and transverse to a conveying direction (Pf1) of the belt. The bars are lowered after delivery of workpiece. The bars are lifted in a transverse shift-free manner and lowered by working cylinders (8). The lowering movement of bars does not have a movement component arranged transverse to the conveying direction of the belt. The bars are coated with plastic.
