The converter (1) has an input shaft (2) that stays in effective connection with a transmission unit (3) that converts a low rotary speed to a high rotary speed of the input shaft. The transmission unit stays in effective connection with a generator (6). The transmission unit has two output shafts (4, 5) that mechanically stay in effective connection with respective rotors (7, 8) in the generator. A spur gear unit is provided in the transmission unit. The rotors stay in effective connection with a toothed wheel and/or the output shafts and/or an intermediate shaft of planetary gears (18, 19).
