The injector (1) has a high pressure connection (7) and an injection valve element (27) adjustable between a closing position and an opening position to release fuel e.g. diesel, flow through an injection opening (24). The valve element is adjustable by an electromagnetic actuator (8) through adjustment of an armature (10). The connection is hydraulically connected with a flow channel (11) running through the armature, where the fuel flows through the channel in an axial direction. The flow channel and/or the connection are arranged coaxially to a longitudinal middle axis (L) of the injector.
