Method for determining error of detected angle of rotation of crankshaft of internal combustion engine of motor vehicle, involves comparing phase angle with reference phase angle for determining angle deviation as error of angle of rotation
The method involves detecting increment times of a sensor wheel (4) arranged at a shaft (3) about an angle of rotation range. A series expansion of the increment times is determined over the angle of rotation range depending on multiples of main frequency and a phase angle, where the main frequency is an ignition frequency or a fuel injection frequency of an internal combustion engine. The phase angle is compared with a reference phase angle for determining an angle deviation as an error of the detected angle of rotation of the shaft. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an angle detection device comprising a sensor wheel attached to a shaft (2) a computer program product stored on a program controllable computer for executing an error determining method (3) a storage medium for storing a computer program product.
