The method comprises supplying a solid-containing mixture containing volatile compounds to a multi-stage drier and then drying, and removing exhaust vapor containing the volatile compounds from the drier. The multi-stage driers are operated in different temperature and/or pressure. The exhaust vapor of different steps is separately removed from the drier. The steps of the drying are divided so that the exhaust vapor is collected during evaporation of 40-45% of the fluid content of the solid-containing mixture. The method comprises supplying a solid-containing mixture containing volatile compounds to a multi-stage drier and then drying, and removing exhaust vapor containing the volatile compounds from the drier. The multi-stage driers are operated in different temperature and/or pressure. The exhaust vapor of different steps is separately removed from the drier. The steps of the drying are divided so that the exhaust vapor is collected during evaporation of 40-45% of the fluid content of the solid-containing mixture, where the exhaust vapor contains a portion of volatile compounds present in the solid-containing mixture. The exhaust vapor containing the volatile compounds removed from the drier is distilled in one or more distillation columns up to desired final concentration. The solid-containing mixture is completely dried from volatile compounds. The removed exhaust vapor is used to the drier for heating. The exhaust vapor condenses and serves for heating. The solid-containing mixture is a fermented mash. A slight portion is drawn-off from the fermented mash before the supply in the drier and is supplied in a cultivation container for yeast. The portion of the fermented mash supplied to the cultivation container is 1-10% of the total mash.
