The device has an energy storage element (10) e.g. torsion bar, provided to store remaining rotational energy of an internal combustion engine (1) when switching off. The energy storage element releases rotational energy during renewed starting for the rotation of a crankshaft (6) in a set direction. The energy storage element is connectable with a crankshaft. A driver (8) i.e. pivot, is engaged into the energy storage element when switching off the internal combustion engine.
