The method involves determining axial accelerations of a vehicle i.e. commercial motor vehicle (1), along two axial directions using acceleration sensors (2, 3) e.g. crash sensors, arranged in the vehicle. Actual positions of the acceleration sensors in an area are determined by twice integration of the accelerations. A rotational angle is determined from a kinematic relation of the actual positions of the acceleration sensors around which the vehicle is turned during movement, where a roll angle and a yaw angle are determined as the rotational angle. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
