The navigation method involves receiving (S1) two sensor signals, where an appropriate translation coordinate is determined (S6) based on the two sensor signals using two formulae. A weighted coordinate is calculated (S7) based on the translation coordinate. The coordinates, appropriate for navigation, are used by receiving radio signals. An independent claim is included for a navigation device, particularly for use in a portable navigation system.
